Craig Brown, VP of Business Development - APS Technology

Craig Brown is currently the Vice President of Business Development at APS Technology, where he is responsible for guiding the development and commercialization of the company’s developmental drilling tools and creating new product / new market opportunities. He has a BBA for the Univ of Georgia and a BSME from Ga Tech, and has more than 40 years of experience in a variety of engineering, applications engineering, sales, operations and product line management positions in the downhole drilling tool business with Schlumberger Well Service, Reed Tool Company, Andergauge Drilling Systems and National Oilwell Varco. Craig has held business development and sales and operational management responsibilities. He was active in the SPE and AADE, where he served on the technical program committee and held leadership positions for many years. He is currently active in the IADD. 

Aron Deen, Director of Marketing & Innovation - Ulterra

Aron Deen has worked in oil & gas drilling for 10 years with diverse responsibilities in Engineering, Product Development, Sales, Marketing, and Strategy. He has worked in plays across the US, Middle East & North Africa, Canada, and on drilling projects around the world. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Oklahoma and MBA at the University of Texas.



Floyd Felderhoff, PAT Drilling and Completion, Pioneer Natural Resources

Floyd Felderhoff is currently in a drilling engineer role within the Permian Drilling group for Pioneer Natural Resources. Prior to this position, he spent 26 years working in various roles in the field engineering, drilling optimization and research groups for Baker Hughes. Floyd graduated from Texas Tech University in 1984 with BS in Petroleum Engineering, is the author of 14 papers, and has seven patents related to drill bit design and drilling optimization.

Ryan Graham, R&D Director - NOV Wellbore Technologies

Ryan Graham is currently the R&D Director at NOV Wellbore Technologies. After graduating as a mechanical engineer, he started in the oil and gas industry as a bit designer for ReedHycalog. During this period, he focused primarily on rotary steerable solutions. Ryan subsequently moved to various field engineering and management positions in Africa and Europe before relocating to the Houston area. Over the last few years he’s been managing both the development of field software and drill bit R&D for NOV ReedHycalog.


Denise Azuaga Livingston, Global Automated Drilling Services Product Manager - Baker Hughes

Denise Azuaga Livingston is the Baker Hughes Global Automated Drilling Services Product Manager. She has 16 years’ experience in the industry working in offshore and onshore drilling projects in North America, Latin America, Europe and Africa. The past 5 years she has been the automated drilling services technical advisor for North America. Prior to that she had different roles from drilling application engineer and well planner to sales and logistics within Baker Hughes and other service companies. Denise holds a B.S. chemical engineering, post-graduate degree in petroleum engineering and a Master in Science in energy and environmental planning.

Kevin McMillin, Director of Operations - TerraVici

Kevin McMillin is currently the Director of Operations for TerraVici Drilling Solutions. After graduating from the University of Oklahoma with degrees in both Geological and Petroleum Engineering, he began his oilfield career offshore. With more than 25+ years in the industry, his formation evaluation and directional drilling experience has included: performing the first induction resistivity, advanced geosteering technique; participating in the Conoco MWD/LWD Logoff; generating the first while-drilling, wellbore resistivity-at-bit images; and providing working with one of the industry's first remote monitoring facilities from a Barnett Shale operators office. Kevin has authored numerous drilling technology articles and was a key contributor to the original publication of Offshore Magazine's annual Rotary Steerable Survey. He is an active SPE member, serving 2 years on SPE-Gulf Coast Section's board of directors. 

Stéphane Menand, President - DrillScan

Stéphane Menand is the President of DrillScan, and is based in Houston. Previously, he held a research position at Mines ParisTech university. He has 18 years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry, mainly as an R&D project manager in drilling engineering, more specifically in directional drilling, drillstring mechanics (torque, drag, and buckling), drilling dynamics and drill-bit performance. Menand has authored several SPE and other technical papers (25+), patents, and he earned a PhD degree in drilling engineering from Mines ParisTech. Menand serves on the Journal of Petroleum Technology Editorial Committee and SPE Drilling and Completions Journal (Associate Editor)

Juan Restrepo, Product Champion for RRS - Schlumberger

Juan Restrepo is the Schlumberger product champion for rotary steerable systems. He joined Schlumberger as a geomechanics engineer in 2003, and later worked in various roles, such as MWD, drilling optimization and directional drilling in Latin America and the Caribbean region. In 2012, he became the drilling project manager for the world-record breaking ERD operations in Sakhalin, Russia, until taking on the global RSS position. Juan holds a bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering from the National University of Colombia, where he was a member of the geomechanics research group prior to joining Schlumberger, and later served as an honorary co-professor of the applied directional drilling course.

Reed W. Spencer, Research Engineer - Baker Hughes, Drill Bits

Reed W. Spencer is a Research Engineer with Baker Hughes, Drill Bits. During his nine years in the oil and gas and mining industries, he has specialized in directional drilling, particularly the development of directional drilling modeling software that combines the effects of bit features and BHA design to predict directional trajectory. He has also studied drilling vibrations and dysfunctions in-depth. Reed is the author of 11 publications and holds one patent. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Utah.

Jim Tilley, Directional Driling Technical Advisor - Halliburton

Jim Tilley is a Directional Drilling Technical Advisor for the Halliburton Latin America Region. Based in Houston, he is responsible for the region’s directional drilling product line technology and development. Before his current role, he served as global product manager for rotary steerable systems. Jim has more than 30 years of experience in drilling operations around the world in various roles, including LWD field engineer, Directional Drilling, Product Manager and Drilling Optimization Engineer. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University, and is an active member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE).
