Join us on May 7th in the OXY Think Theater for this great overview of Mud Motors. The course is intended for industry individuals who need a basic understanding of how motors work, the components that make up a mud motor, and a high level discussion on well engineering and failure modes. Young engineers and support staff, with operators, service companies, and component suppliers, will gain a working knowledge of this critical engine of drilling performance.
Dr. Robello Samuel has been an Adjunct Professor at U of H and a Fellow at Halliburton for years. He has written numerous drilling engineering textbooks. A copy of his co-authored book on Positive Displacement Motors is included with the registration fee.
Positive displacement motors, commonly called mud motors, are a simple but elegant machine that has become an integral part of the BHA - especially when drilling shale wells. Tremendous advancements have been made, but the challenges remain. This half-day workshop on mud motors covers the concepts, performance, advancements, future designs, how to use them, and when to use them at difficult times.
Please note that the event price includes Positive Displacement Motor: Theory and Applications color textbook (450 pages) by Dr. Robello Samuel.
