Matt Briggs is a Senior Staff Drilling Engineer and member of the corporate drilling team at Southwestern Energy Company. With 12 years of drilling and completion operations experience across North America, he has worked in the Appalachian, Arkoma, San Wash and Texas Gulf Coast basins. Matt is experienced in air drilling, extended -reach horizontal drilling and horizontal completions and has worked collaboratively to update drilling best practices and presented to operations groups across Southwestern Energy. Matt holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.
Shelly Cory is currently the Baker Hughes Kymera™ Hybrid Drill Bit Global Product Line Manager. She received her B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M. Since joining Baker Hughes in 2000, she has worked across multiple product lines, including drill bits, chemicals, pumps and pressure pumping, in various functional roles, from manufacturing, marketing, sales, commercial, IT, application engineering, operations and product line development. Shelly is involved in PinkPetro, Million Women Mentored and resource groups such as Women's Resource Group (steering committe member). She also leads STEM initiatives (keynote speaking and multiple customer collaborations), is a SPE committee member and joined the IADD North Chapter as a Board Member.
Chris is currently the President of Janel Energy Services Incorporated and has more than 20 years of drilling exploration knowledge and experience. He began his oilfield career in 1996 with Nabors Industries after graduating college with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Business Administration from Sam Huston State University. Chris diversified his knowledge and experience by entering the field of fluids engineering and worked in the drilling market throughout the U.S. West Coast until 1999 when he joined Schlumberger as an MWD/LWD Engineer. Since 1999, Chris has dedicated his career to directional drilling services and has held positions spanning three continents and more than eight countries. He has assisted directional drilling companies with technical process writing, operations management, risk analysis and training programs, while creating structure for a successful business model that ensures customer focus and reliability. In 2013, he became the Global Optimization Manager at Phoenix Technology Services where he assisted with structure and implementation of remote operations centers in North America. Chris continues to write technical papers and processes and has created successful operations structures for delivering on performance and reliability.
Mike was educated in the UK studying Mechanical & Electrical engineering. He began his drilling career working for Kenting Drilling onshore in Europe from 1984 to 1995 holding various field positions before moving to the offshore industry for ENSCO. In 1997 he joined Sperry Sun Drilling Services as an MWD/LWD engineer before transitioning to a directional drillers roll, then directional coordinator in house for ConocoPhillips Indonesia and then Project Manager in Vietnam again in house for Bien Dong (ex BP). In 2013 Mike became Halliburton Sperry Technical Directional Drilling Advisor based in the Permian Basin and after taking early retirement from Halliburton after 18 years of services, joined Tomax Anti Stick Slip technology as the Permian Operations Manager. Mike is also an active member of the AADE and was also on the committee for the Permian IADD chapter before transferring to the Houston chapter and a new member of the board.
Roland Illerhaus is Vice President Operations & Technology, for Integrity Directional Services. During his career he has held a number of Leadership positions domestic and internationally in various segments in the Oil and Gas service industry. Key projects include building the application engineering competency for Integrity Directional, lead optimization teams to collaborate with operators to improve drilling performance, manage diamond bit product lines, improve operational efficiency in the pressure pumping, and worked with major operators and research groups to advance drilling technology. He has authored and co-authored a number of SPE papers and owns several patents. Roland is a Mechanical Engineer and a certified Six Sigma Black Belt. He is an active member of IADD, IADC, and SPE.
