Sonic LWD is not a new technology in the oil industry, however, more challenging wells, and reservoirs always pushes the engineering and research folks to develop new tools to address the market needs. Weatherford new generation Sonic LWD tools answers most of the questions the client have and more.

The presentation focuses on how the mechanical and the measurement side of the tools, as well as the applications that sonic is used for in general. Many log examples from around the world showing log responses to different lithologies. Moreover, some advanced azimuthal processing is shown with log images.
